The Dedmon Center is currently closed to allow extensive renovations. The renovations include the replacement of the entire roof system and the building's HVAC system. The original Dedmon Center roof, constructed in 1980, will be replaced by a steel truss supported roof. The replacement of the air supported roof with a structurally supported roof allows a new air conditioning and air circulation system to be installed throughout the facility. The new system will now encompass the arena and other areas that previously had not been air conditioned. All of the indoor Dedmon Center facilities are effected by the refurbishment, this includes the arena, weight room, racquetball courts, swimming pool and locker rooms.
